Paraffin Wax - Properties and Treatment

Paraffin has a very beneficial effect on the skin of the hands and feet.It effectively helps keep it in perfect condition. This treatment has long been used for joint inflammation and pain.
Paraffin treatments are particularly popular during the fall and winter, when the skin suffers the most from low temperatures. Your hands are especially sensitive at that time—the skin becomes dry and rough, and the outer layer of skin may peel.It is usually the lower temperature that causes sweat and sebum production to decrease and the natural protective barrier on the skin's surface to become thinner.
Paraffin wax available on the market usually already contains nutrients and vitamins. You can apply it to your skin without using any additional creams. If your skin is not in good condition, apply a cream or mask before the paraffin treatment..It works wonders—fine lines and discoloration disappear, and your skin is perfectly moisturized and smooth to the touch.(For this purpose, we recommend using Lopalmed AufbauCreme nourishing balm )

Characteristics and Properties of Paraffin
Paraffin is an unsaturated hydrocarbon obtained during the distillation of crude oil; it contains natural emollients.Paraffin has a wide range of applications in both medical and cosmetic fields. Its distinctive feature is its high heat capacity and low thermal conductivity, which allows it to retain heat for a long time.
Paraffin does not have moisturizing properties; when applied to the skin, it forms a kind of barrier that locks in moisture.During paraffin treatments, heat penetrates deep into the tissues, which speeds up blood circulation and opens the skin’s pores, thereby promoting better absorption of skincare products.
